No 1 Traveller Lounge - A great way to start your flight!

Our editor David Powell, reviews the No 1 Traveller Lounge at Gatwick Airport ...

No 1 Traveller have a collection of award- winning airport lounges at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Birmingham airports. I recently took an early flight from Gatwick South and was able to experience this lounge for myself.

No 1 in Gatwick South scooped Priority Pass lounge of the year in 2011 and 2012 as voted by frequent flyers and I could see why.  This was a first class start to my flight, a relaxing lounge with complimentary food and drink and superb panoramic views of the runway.

Before 11 am there is a breakfast self service choice of cereals, pastries, fruit salad, fresh fruit and yoghurt with a selection of toppings.  Plus of course coffee and tea. There’s also a bistro menu from the kitchen which includes waffles, scrambled eggs and bacon roll. There’s a different menu after 11am and you can view this choice on their website.

Complimentary food is included in your lounge entrance and drinks from the bar including wine, beer and spirits are also complimentary and again the drinks menu can be accessed from the website.

The Lounge features are as follows:

• Access to Premium Lane Security*

• Complimentary items from the self-service pantry table

• A freshly-prepared dish from the kitchen

• Fully tended bar

• A La Carte menu available†

• Champagne & cocktails†

• Free, unlimited WiFi

• Daily international newspapers & glossy magazines

• TVs

• Panoramic runway views

* No1Traveller.com bookings only   † These extras start from £6

The lounge can be accessed three hours before your flight time. Entry costs £25.00 per adult*, £15 per child (aged 2 - 11) and infants go free, when booked online in advance.

* Surcharges of £5 and £2.50, for adults and children respectively apply when entry is purchased on arrival

The lounge is located after security and is open daily from 4am to 10pm. Dress code is smart casual or business.

Once you arrive in the main departure lounge it’s easy to find the lounge, just    follow signs for No.1 Gatwick which is  upstairs next to Frankie & Benny’s.

Gift vouchers

If you're not sure what to buy for your favourite traveller, No 1 Traveller offers  gift vouchers from £35. You don't have to know when they are travelling, just that they will be within one year of booking.

CONCLUSION

This was a great relaxing way to start my flight, not to mention the fabulous runway views and I will certainly be using the No 1 Traveller Lounge again!
